Claude Whatley Portfolio
3D Modeling, alongside animating, is my greatest passion. I have been working in blender, Maya, and Substance Painter since March, 2023. I have produced a game modeled entirely by me, from rooms to objects, available for download to Mac users. To see models and textures I've painted/created, feel free to explore my Sketchfab Page linked below. Or, if on Mac, feel free to download and play my game for yourself!

2k/4k Chained Buster Sword Model
(Maya/Adobe Substance Painter)
This Buster Sword was created by me in Maya, then painted in Substance with Leather, Blue Chrome, Bronze, etc. materials. The UV mapping was tricky, especially for the chains, and the non-boolean holes in the mesh. Ultimately this ended up being my best piece so far despite some certain pains of modeling.

2K Scratched WWII Smoke Grenade
(Maya/Adobe Substance Painter)
This Smoke Grenade was modeled in Maya as four separate objects. Grenade body, Head, Pin, and Handle. I created a UDIM and Non-UDIM file, and textured both via Albedo, Metallic, Roughness, and Normal maps. Check this out, and more of my Maya models on Sketchfab!

4k Akame Ga Kill Murasame Katana

(Maya / Adobe Substance Painter / Clip Studio)
This demon katana modeled from the anime "Akame Ga Kill" was created in Maya and texture painted via substance. For the lettering (which doesn't really mean anything) I painted an alpha in Clip Studio, then transferred the PNG to substance for use as an inverted mask, allowing me to use a charcoal material on the wooden panels (as if it were drawn via charcoal with a bump map). Check this out, and more of my Maya models on Sketchfab!

Kirby's Hammer (4k/2k)
(Maya/Adobe Substance Painter)
This weapon model belonging to a little pink fellow, was very fun to make, especially smaller details that add to the cartoon feel of the franchise. A swinging animation is viewable on my Sketchfab page, click the link below to view this model close up!

2K Diner Booth Set (Non-UDIM)
(Maya/Substance)
This model consists of three components, a diner table, and two booths. Those who wanted to resize/move around the components can do so within their respective software. With over 900+ downloads, this is one of my more popular hard surface models. Check this out, and more of my blender models on Sketchfab!

2K Cone/Pallet/Tire Set
(Maya/Adobe Substance Painter)
This model set was one of my faster builds, around 4 hours total (including texturing). All three models are separate components for resizing/placement in respective software. Details such as scratches on the plastic cone, and mud splotches on the tire, are viewable close-up within my Sketchfab linked below!
